Samir, Karen & Sarah / Central Park Family Session

I like to say that whenever I shoot family sessions, I’m an entertainer first and photographer second. I was proven right once again last weekend when I met up with Samir, Karen and their absolutely adorable daughter, Sarah. It took a little while for her to open up but once she did the fun was on full force. I even got a hug when I left. We spent a beautiful Saturday afternoon exploring Central Park and really came back with some great shots. Here are some of my favorite frames from the afternoon.

Mike Olbinski - Great job man, adorable little girl! Getting that session-end hug is a winner :)

Heath O'Fee - Awesome work, dude. Looks like such a great time.

Rich Williams - Nice work, Jesse. You got some cute shots of that little girl. =)

Brian Furbush - Awesome shooting bud, looks like you brought out the fun.

Dani Kasparian Pafundi - Love her faces….she’s too cute :)

Eden - Nicely done! Bet they’ll treasure these.

Michael Murphy - Great shots Jesse, love them. Such a perfect day for a shoot also!

Happy Birthday Hurley!

If you’re a dog person then you understand. Hurley is our baby. He’s spoiled, he runs the show at home and even when we’re not around him we talk about him. Hurley turned 2 today so like perfectly normal people, my wife and I are having a mini birthday party for him. He brings us tremendous joy day in and day out and I don’t know what life would be like without him. Happy birthday to my little gentleman. Here are some pictures from his second year.

A few of Hurley’s favorite things: That white blanket, unwrapping presents, eating things that should not be eaten, laying in mountains of laundry fresh out of the dryer and chasing squirrels in our backyard.

Ray & Tiffany / Central Park Engagement

Ray & Tiff are awesome. It’s literally impossible to not have a great time hanging out with these two. I love making engagement sessions a personal experience for every couple and although Central Park seems like an obvious choice, for Ray & Tiff it was more than just taking photos at an iconic spot in New York City. They walk through sections of the park every day and spend most weekends here so I made sure to touch on those little nuances that make it special to them, including a certain tree. We basically spent an hour laughing and having a blast. Oh, and I took some photos as well.

Death Cab for Cutie Live at the Beacon Theatre

On Sunday I ventured into New York City with my dad and brother to see Death Cab for Cutie play live at the Beacon Theatre. It would be my first time seeing them play live and well worth the wait. It was an incredible show. They played all but 4 of the 24 songs alongside the Magik*Magik Orchestra, an 8 piece string orchestra which was beyond amazing. Opening for DCFC and the first concert frame below was Youth Lagoon. Check them out if you’re into chill, indie electronic music.

Passenger Seat to open. I almost lost it.

Transatlanticism to close out the show. Woah.
